Well, I got on the trusty digital scale this morning. Didn't expect much since I ate the giant turkey burger and drank the 42 ounces of diet tea last night. Holy moly, I weighed 186 lbs. Have now lost 4 pounds in the first five days of the Dukan diet. Let's give a cheer for the lost fat. I know the fat cells will never away but we can starve them right? Kind of like the little palm fronds that spring up around my pool. They keep coming back but you just have to keep after the weeding them out as part of gardening. If I had thought that way for the last twenty years I might not be writing this blog today. Anyway I sure have eaten a lot of great and not so great food over the years!
I am about to steam a filet of salmon for lunch and then maybe later have some weight watchers lemon pie yogurt. I had two teaspoons of it last night and it sure was good. I'm too cautious at the moment to go on a binge of any kind. By the way, I forgot to tell you that my stomach is feeling a lot better these days. I have always had a sensitive stomach, but maybe certain carbs and sugars are a problem. This will be a thought to pursue in the coming months as I reintroduce old foods to my maintenance plan.
I realized that I have to go back to the office on Thursday so I need to come up with a plan of attack for all the speedtraps in that environment. Maybe some readers out there will have some ideas. If not; I make make my self a series of reminder warnings for my cubicle. Nothing like working a little creative magic for this mission. Once I'm there I'll keep you posted on current events in the ring (office) and cubicle country. Until then, happy days to you.

I started this blog to motivate myself to lose weight for the final time in my life. Then I realized that many other people struggle with their weight and might get some ideas from this blog. Most diet web sites simply describe menus, exercise, etc. I will do some of that but the reality is I'm just like you and will struggle. I will say I chose the Dukan diet just because it happens to be the current rage, but I could easily have chosen the grapefruit diet (joke from the past).
